Learn-to-Skate
(CanSkate, Canskate for Preschool, CanSkate for Hockey/Ringette)

Canada for description of programs and qualifications. Hockey-style
CSA approved helmets are MANDATORY for ALL SKATERS. Full equipment
is recommended for CanSkate for Hockey/Ringette.
A CSA Certified Hockey helmet is MANDATORY for Adults and are to be worn until stage 5 of CanSkate has been passed.
StarSkate (Junior, Intermediate, Senior)
All skaters entering the StarSkate program must have a private
coach. All sessions include time for warm-up/stroking, freeskate
and dance. Skaters must skate at the level they qualify for; any
exceptions require Board approval. See Skate
Canada for program description and qualifications.
Junior
Must have passed CanSkate Badge 6.
Intermediate
Must have passed two of the following tests: Preliminary Freeskate, Preliminary Skills, Preliminary Dances; OR be at least 14 years of age and have passed one of the above tests.
Low intermediae
Skaters must not have passed JR. Bronze Skills OR Preliminary Freeskate
HIGH Intermediate
Skaters MUST have passed BOTH Preliminary Freeskate AND JR. Bronze Skills
* For the NEW Intermediate Low/High sessions no online registration is available – registrations will be taken in person only
Senior
Must have passed two of the following tests: Junior Bronze Freeskate,
Senior Bronze Skills, Senior Bronze Dances; OR be at least 16 years
of age and have passed one of the above tests.
