Adult/Teen 2015 Fees, Policies & Refund Information

Our Program

Adult (ages 15 and older) Come and join us on the large ice surface for some fun and great exercise. Learn proper technique and balance to increase control, speed and confidence in your skating. We teach at all levels and you learn at your own pace in our flexible, fun and challenging program.

Important note

By registering online all skaters/parents agree to all ASC policies, Skater’s Code of Conduct and Athlete’s Release as outlined in the online waiver prior to registration.
Schedule is subject to revision based on skater registration should the ASC Board of Directors deem necessary.  
 

Requirements /Policies

  • Age requirements: Adult – Participants must be 15 years old on March 29, 2015 for our Spring session.
  • Equipment: CSA approved hockey helmets are required until the completion of level 5, and helmet cages are strongly recommended for all skaters in level 1. Skaters must wear proper skates and gloves. Equipment is not available to rent, so participants must make arrangements to have equipment by the first session. Participants without appropriate equipment will not be permitted on the ice.
  • No Make ups for Missed Classes: Skaters sign up for a specific session and cannot be accommodated on another session if they have to miss a day for any reason.
  • Cancelled Classes: ASC cannot make up a class or provide a refund if there is a cancellation due to severe weather or other circumstances beyond the control of ASC.

Skate Canada Membership Fees

When you sign up for a skating program at our club, you are required to also become a member of Skate Canada. This annual $35 fee is valid from Sept. 1 2014 to Aug. 31 2015 (you will only pay it once during a season, no matter how many CanSkate or other sessions you register for).  It includes insurance coverage, along with access to all Skate Canada programs.

Addtional Fees

****In addition to the lesson fees shown below, each participant must pay:

  • $35 Skate Canada membership fee, payable once per skating season
  • $25 Administration fee, payable once per skating season

Lesson fees cover ice time, group coaching (where applicable), and H.S.T. All program fees are eligible for the Children’s Fitness Tax Credit.

To Register

Registration: All participants must register online at www.ajaxskatingclub.ca, but will have the option of either paying:

  • Online:  Pay by Visa or Mastercard
  • Offline:  Pay by cash/cheque (payable to ASC).  Use Registration Cheque schedule to date cheques. Put the cheque(s) plus a copy of the offline payment invoice in an envelope labelled ATTN: Registrar and take to the ASC office at the Ajax Community Centre, second floor by pad 2 or mail to: ATTN: Registrar , Ajax Skating Club, 75 Bayly Street West, P.O. Box 14514   Ajax, Ontario L1S 7K0.  DO NOT MAIL CASH

Payment Plan Option  Due to the short session length of the spring session, payment for that session must be made in full at registration.

Unused credit notes: Previous members with credit notes must contact the club at ajaxskatingclub@hotmail.com and asc_registrar@hotmail.comprior to registering, and ask to have the credit applied to their account.  Allow 3 days for a response.

Lesson fees will be pro-rated for late registrations every four weeks from start of session.

NSF Fees - $25 fee will be charged for NSF cheques.

Tax Credit Receipts

When you register, you will receive a receipt by email. This can be used for your records. Additionally, if you log into the website and select “My Account’ in the top right corner and select “My Order History” you will see any eligible tax receipts for each tax year. Please note: The tax receipts will be issued in the name of the person who made the payment for each participant enrolled in the ASC programs.

Refund Policy

Refunds will only be given in accordance with our refund policy with medical notes attached.

  • All request for Refunds must be made in writing to Ajax Skating Club, Attention the Registrar, using our refund form. click here
  • Skate Canada membership fees are non-refundable.
  • ASC Administration fees of $25 are non-refundable
  • After the final deadlines, refunds will only be considered for medical reasons, at the discretion of the Board of Directors.
  • Please allow 4-6 weeks for review & processing from time of notification.

Sessions are priced according to number of skating days, and adjusted for all Exception Days (holidays, competitions, tournaments, etc.) when there is no skating and important dates to be aware of.

    Mission

Our mission is to offer EVERYONE that is interested in learning or looking to improve their skating skills a program that will provide fun, fitness and achievements. Our programs will promote and foster a skaters development in a fun, safe and positive environment!
