 PRESTARSKATE / STARSKATE PROGRAMS

For those completed stage 4 of the CanSkate program and wish to continue skating!

Ajax offers varies levels of figure skating for those wishing to continue beyond Learn to Skate. These sessions are broken down into a PreStar Skate which is for those that have passed stage 4 CanSkate and would like to move into figure skating. PreStar sessions are 1 hour in length and consist of at least 2-15 min group lessons led by a coach, however this is the time that we start recommending private lessons for our skaters. Once completed Stage 6 CanSkate, skaters move into the StarSkate program which is for those wishing to continue figure skating for recreation (complete tests/compete locally) or for those that wish to be competitive (complete tests and compete at various competitions).
The StarSkate program has several tests from Star 1 to Star 10 in 3 disciplines, dance, freeskate/artistic and skills. These are also 1 hour sessions with NO group lessons and it is mandatory that all skaters have a private coach.
We ever encourage adult skaters that wish to continue learning or even compete at Adult competitions to do these sessions. For those that wish to only complete Star 5 and go into coaching skating our Professional coaches can help and guide you through this as well.

PreStarSkate

This program  is for CANSkaters that have completed Stage 4 of the CanSkate program and are interested in Figure Skating (STARSkate).  Private lessons are highly recommended but not mandatory and these are to be arranged directly with a staff coach of your choice, please see our coaches page for information.

PreStar sessions are 1 hour in length and consist of at least 2-15 min group lessons led by a coach, that incorporate CANSkate badges 5 & 6 as well as beginner Figure Skating elements. This will leave skaters with 30 minutes to work on their own unless a private coach has been arranged. Signs are posted with items to work on along with a their own little booklet filled with ideas, progress cards and fun activities.

Once completed Stage 6 CanSkate, skaters move into the StarSkate program which is for those wishing to continue figure skating for recreation (complete tests/compete locally) or for those that wish to be competitive (complete tests and compete at various competitions).
